make the kit car awd like the real car?

well i have been lurking around and readin up on all information i didnt really know at first...

but something i haven't seen suggested was about about maybe making the kit car awd like the real one. audi has a v8 awd setup on a lot of their cars but all i've seen for sale are the engines, which reminds me, i found this nice group of people who sell recycled audi engines for a relatively good deal. based in america http://www.lowmileageengines.com/used-engines/audi/index.php

anyway, i have been searching my butt off trying to find the awd differntial an the gear box as well but all i see are the engines, anyone figured out who or where i can get soemthing like that besides having to buy the whole car?

also, something which was lightly discussed but never formally addressed, they have build dvd's and lhd setups for the kit car right?

aaaaand since im asking all these questions... where would i go about getting a proper interior (e.g. dash board, guages, that little 'oh shit!' bar for the passenger thats near the center console, ect) i already know about http://www.robson-design.com/products.htm but seeing as how i dont want the entire car to look like some wierd carbon fiber experiment, i was hoping someone might know something i dont. thanks muchly in advance guys! To go AWD you'd need to either - have a custom transfer box designed ( not too difficult), modify the floorpan to accomodate the propshaft ( possible but very time consuming) and redesign the front suspension on the Mr2 along with finding a new place for the fuel tank. Probably a bridge to far, although saying that I know someone is having a go not for kit project.

Re: make the kit car awd like the real car?

right on, thanks. i've opted for a small block v8 from gm as well. cheaper than audi AND when i install the high lift, long duration cam. it'll sound like one of the many exotic italian monsters. i've got two car projects going on right now so it might be a while before i get around to undertaking this task. when i finally do i'll upload pictures and information on how i went about installing all of it. maybe if your lucky a sound file for everyone to hear  Shocked
