Wheel sizing help

Hi, can anybody help me out?? My extreme is currently running on 20" wheels with 245/30 tyres, the ride is a little harder than i would like and would like to change them for either 18" or 19" with larger rubber to soften things a little. I have measured the spacers and they are 5x112 pcd. The front spacer is 80mm and the rear 110mm. What fitment should i be looking for?? I am looking for something similar to the original 360 wheels, can anybody help?? If so there will be a set of 20" wheels with nearly new tyres going cheap, thanks.

Re: Wheel sizing help

Hi mate welcome to the forum, i will add you as an owner asap.

Where did you get your car from? If you have pics then we would all be interested to see them.

I will find a link to some wheel options. But once you are down as an owner you will be able to see the build diaries and other builders wheel options.

This is the link to the start of a wheel sizing guide for the 360/430.

If anyone has pics of theirs, get it updated!! Grin

Re: Wheel sizing help

hi, thanks for the help, have found out some more information since i posted, the wheels are 9j x 20 with 60mm offset for the front and 10j x 20 with 60mm offset for the rear, hopefully with this info somebody can find something that will fit, i would prefer 18s so i can get a bit more rubber for comfort but from what i can see most people recommend 19s. If i use 19s i think i can only go to 35 profile tyres compared to 30s that i already have, will this really make a big difference? thanks.

Re: Wheel sizing help

I believe offset works from the centre of the wheel, so if you stick to the same widths and a 60 offset, you should get the same look with just a smaller wheel. The wheels you can fit will depend on the pcd and centre bore  your spacer was made up for. If its custom for your wheels then you could be stuck, if its bmw then you have much more to choose from.

You may be better off selling the spacers and wheels together and starting again, that way you can have absolutely any wheel you like. Genuine 18s look great and are very reasonable in price, but may give you a few probs on ground clearance. I havent spoken to  anyone with genuines on, so this is just a possible risk not definite.

One thing to remember is to keep the rears as wide as possible, a set of skinny rears gives away a kit from miles away!

Re: Wheel sizing help

hi, had a complete change of furtune thankfully, yesterday i removed the front wheel that had been rubbing to find that the spring ride height adjuster had come loose and wound itself down 15mm!!! while is was doing this i thought i would try changing all the dampers to the softest setting. WOW what a difference, the car still has a firm ride but seems to float over all but the biggest holes, so for the record im running
9J front wheel with 245/30/20 tyre
10J rear wheel with 285/30/20 tyre
i have no clearance issues either. Need some advice on other things but will start another thread, thanks again.

Re: Wheel sizing help

What about these? OEM look so much better and obviously ornate.
